I have owned this vintage Fender MusicMaster guitar for the last 60 years of its 63 year life. If you are wondering about the veracity of that statement, that's a 15 year old me in the last picture playing this guitar. My parents bought it for me in 1959 and I took lessons with it for over 2 years. The guitar teacher ripped my parents off because he kept up the lessons even though it was clear that I had no musical talent whatsoever. The guitar went to the back of the closet and moved around with me all my life. Initially, I thought I would play it when I retired - I guess I envisioned strumming it on a beach somewhere. But wisdom came with age when I eventually realized that "I have no musical talent whatsoever". For a collector to enjoy. 1956 Musicmaster was the first year for this model.
It has the same American quality and workmanship of the'50s era Stratocaster and Telecaster by Fender. The white and gold color combination of this model is ultra cool and feels great to play because of its comfortable size. In storage for over 55 years, I have not modified it in any way since I got it in 1959. I suspect that the body may have been touched-up by the original owner because of a little wrinkling on the back of the body. The neck is in great condition and t. Here is relatively little wear between the frets compared to other guitars of this vintage. That's because it has not been played very much.
The plastic on the tuning pegs show normal deterioration for Fenders of that era. The spring is broken on one of the case latches. This great American classic guitar will make someone a wonderful showpiece.
