It is the Ukulele from the best Ukulele brand in the world. You will love the vintage ukuleles from Martin. In the older days Martin produces Ukuleles in Nazareth USA (not in Mexico as modern Martins). This Ukulele was build between 1918 (before 1918 there were no fretboard position markers) and 1920 after 1920 there were fretboard position markers at 5th, 7th and 10th fret - here is 5th, 7th and. And it has the original wooden tunig pegs which make it so light and well balanced. The string action is low and strumming and fingerpicking is a pleasure!
So it is a very early over 100years old very rare Martin Ukulele. In the 30years of Martin pre-war production, there where nearly 39000 style 0 build. The Style 2 only 9600!
The Martin sounds wounderful warm an brillant- you feel, that Martin builders made them to be a highclass instrument and no gift for tourists. You won´t believe that this Martin is over 100 years old.You get the original case with the Martin. I think it a good a collector rejoice it. I bought this uke many years ago in a special shop for vintage banjos, mandolins and ukuleles for over 2000 Dollars. If you want you can get new original Martin M600 fluorocarbon strings. Otherwise try different strings like nylgut from Aquila or even original gut strings. Because of your questions: The glossy finsish only looks at the Photos so shiny. I clean it with RENUWELL (it is a cleaning supplies for antique furnitures, not a polish) and when I take the photots the sun shines. So it is not so glossy in real as seen at the photos.
